Windows 10 Creators Update, ceased support for some Intel CPU-Some of the Clover Trail processor family may no longer be supported on Windows, since the release of the next update.
According to a report in a new article from ZDNet, the users of systems with Intel Atom processor-based architecture Clover Trail fail to install Windows 10 Update Creators. The source is based on several reports from users who are trying to install the update, but in response, they get an error screen suggesting that “Windows 10 is no longer supported” on the system where you plan to install.
The processor Clover Trail Atom family were launched in the last quarter of 2012 in response to the mobile ARM chips that had previously been operated on a tablet with Windows RT. The latter was the OS that Microsoft intended to use the hybrid system as opposed to the Android tablet, an OS that has failed to have the desired success in ending one of the biggest commercial flops from the Redmond company.
The problem was confirmed in April by both Acer, as the manufacturer of Microsoft partners, that by the Redmond company. Acer has said in a note published last April that Microsoft is working to resolve the issue. The following is a free translation of the statement from the company:
“The following Intel Clover Trail processors are not currently supported on Windows 10 Update Creators:
- Atom Z2760
- Atom Z2520
- Atom Z2560
- Atom Z2580
Microsoft is working with us to provide a compatible driver to fix this incompatibility. If you install Windows 10 Creators Update icons and texts may not appear or may be reproduced blocks and bars. If you have already installed the Creators Update and problems have occurred, you can use the Windows 10 recovery options to restore your previous build system. “
Even Microsoft has since confirmed that the four processors from the Taiwanese manufacturer mentioned were no longer supported on Windows 10 Update Creators, informing that “Microsoft is working with partners to provide compatible drivers for these processors”. To date, though, if you try to update the Creators Update with Clover Trail processor all you get is a sad error message.
