Sony launched two new midrange phones, one variant of the other: Xperia R1 and Xperia R1 Plus.
Designed with consumers in the Indian market, Xperia R1 is a 5.2-inch HD resolution (720p) TFT LCD smartphone powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal memory microSD card.
The Xperia R1 has a 13-megapixel camera at the back while an 8-megapixel camera in the front. Both sensors have a Sony hybrid predictive autofocus system that uses object tracking and motion prediction to focus on moving elements.
The Xperia R1 is powered by a 2,620 mAh battery and supports dual SIM (two Nano-SIM), USB-C, Bluetooth 4.2, FM radio connectivity. The operating system is Android 7.0 Nougat.
The Xperia R1 Plus is a Xperia R1 with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory: the display, battery, cameras and everything else are the same as the Xperia R1. Both measure 146.00 x 73.20 x 8.89 and weigh 154 grams.
With regard to price and availability, Sony is offering the Xperia R1 in India for a price of INR 13,990 and the Xperia R1 Plus at a price of INR 15,990,both available in black and silver.
