The Amazing New OnePlus 5 Problem: You Can not Call Emergencies Service Number-The OnePlus 5 is the fashion phone. There is no doubt that OnePlus has created an amazing performance terminal that has been able to dazzle the public, despite the criticisms received for being a clone of the iPhone 7 Plus. We could say that it is a perfect smartphone if it were not for the huge amount of errors that affect the terminal, like the surprising new problem of OnePlus 5.
These days we have reviewed the uncomfortable “Jelly effect” that affects OnePlus 5 screens and audio recording failures when capturing video in landscape format, but the new OnePlus 5 problem is so absurd that it deserves special treatment.
It appears that by dialing 911, the US emergency telephone number, some OnePlus 5 units are blocked and reset instead of connecting the user to the emergency service. This is a major security concern that was recently discovered by a Reddit user who saw a burning building and tried – unlucky – to call the fire department. He later replicated the problem at home and captured it video, as you can see in this video.
When exposing the case in the forum, some owners of the OnePlus 5, although not all, assured that they are also experiencing this problem. However, it is impossible to say how many units are actually affected since there is no objective data on it nor the mark has spoken about it. A thread posted in 2016 on official OnePlus forums suggests that this issue could also affect other OnePlus phones, even though the problem has now been discovered.
In a statement to The Next Web, OnePlus said it is studying the problem:
- “We have contacted the customer and are currently studying the problem. We ask anyone experiencing a similar situation to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org “.
Apparently, from what we have been able to verify, the problem is not replicated when calling the 100, Indian emergency service.
The last of a long compendium of problems
As we said at the beginning of this article, it is not the only problem of the OnePlus 5 detected since the smartphone went on sale. A few weeks ago the company had to intervene to solve the flaws that arose when turning the smartphone OnePlus to record a particular video, when the audio capture has obvious interference. These problems happened to the main fault that users find in the OnePlus 5, which is none other than that called “Jelly Effect” that generates a feeling that the menus bounce while working with the scrolling of the device screen.
