The Snapdragon 660 promises to be one of the great revelations of the year in the field of mobile processors. Despite being a mid-range chip, the first tests already put him at a level very similar to Snapdragon 820, one of the top of last year. But the competition of Qualcomm does not stop and are already beginning to show some of the highlights of what will be its next processors: this is the case of the Samsung Exynos 9610.
Samsung Exynos 9610 First Data
With this new SoC, Samsung seeks to respond to competitive proposals, with a processor relatively affordable but with a performance closer to the high ranges than modest. And is that with the Exynos 9610, the South Koreans inaugurate a new series, the Exynos 9 , aimed at the most demanding mid-range.
Among the first features we know of it, we know that it will be an eight-core processor (4 x Cortex A53 and 4 x Cortex A73) and will be accompanied by a GP2 MP3 GPU and a Cat 13 modem.
The Exynos 9610 will be added in the coming months to Samsung’s processor family
When will the new Exynos 9 series arrive?
The Exynos 9610 is planned for later this year and, although we do not yet have confirmation of the smartphones that will make use of it, it is expected to be some Meizu or some member of the average range of the Samsung itself (J series, C or A).
After the surprise that we take with the Snapdragon 660, we have undoubtedly raised our pretensions as to what we can expect from the new average ranges of mobile processors. You will have to wait to see this Exynos 9610 working to see if Samsung thinks the same thing.
