HMD Global and Carl Zeiss , a company known for its high-end photography lenses and other photography equipment, have just announced a new strategic partnership after Nokia and Carl Zeiss have already worked together during the first time of Microsoft’s journey. This makes it more likely the Nokia 9 could be the company’s first smartphone, since it fell into the hands of HMD, with Zeiss lenses.
The last time the market saw a smart phone with Zeiss lenses was when Nokia was manufacturing Windows phones, with the Lumia 1020 being one of the most outstanding phones in the range with Windows Phone.
“Collaborating with Zeiss is an important part of our commitment to always providing the best experience for our customers. Our fans want more than just a great camera, they want a complete picture experience that not only sets the standard, but redefines it. Our fans are waiting for it and, together with Zeiss, we are delivering it “
Arto Nummela, CEO of HMD Global has spoken these words in the statement of the mark where it is announced that Nokia will again have Zeiss cameras
Nokia and Zeiss
At a time when Nokia used to run the market in the last decade, Zeiss and Nokia collaborated to create some phones with iconic camera-like performance. Now we are likely to see this success repeated on upcoming Nokia phones , now with Android, which will be configured to offer Carl Zeiss optics and offer new benchmarks in the field of mobile photography.
The latest Nokia with Zeiss camera were the Nokia PureView and the Nokia Lumia 1020, two smartphones that offered exceptional photographic performance, the PureView being a terminal that housed inside a 41-megapixel image sensor.
The performance of the camera is one of the key features of phones today and companies are looking to improve the captures obtained with our devices more and more, aiming to occupy the top positions of DxOmark. Previously, Huawei collaborated with Leica, an iconic camera manufacturer, to bring the camera to life with its current top-of-the-range cameras, and now Nokia and Carl Zeiss are announcing their own collaboration for long-term product development.
And that HMD Global and Zeiss claim that its latest partnership is a long – term agreement and will involve both companies collaborating in almost every aspect of mobile photography. For now none of the brands has detailed exactly what consumers can expect to see in future Nokia smartphones .
