Without wanting to, AMD has revealed the specifications of the Ryzen 3 processors, which will compete directly with Core i3. They will be released only in the second half of the year, but have already come face-to-face with a presentation of Ryzen Pro chips aimed at corporate users.
Two models have emerged: Ryzen 3 1300 and Ryzen 3 1200. A notable difference from Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7 is that the cheaper chips will not have Simultaneous MultiThreading (SMT): they have four cores and four threads. These are the specifications:
- Ryzen 3 1300 : 4 cores, 4 threads, 3.5 GHz (3.7 GHz in turbo), 8 MB L3 cache, 65 W TDP
- Ryzen 3 1200 : 4 cores, 4 threads, 3.1 GHz (3.4 GHz turbo), 8 MB L3 cache, 65 W TDP
Pricing For Ryzen 3
Prices have not yet been announced, but both will be cheaper than the more affordable Ryzen 5 ($ 169 or R.s. 10956). For comparison purposes, Intel has seven Core i3 models for desktops; All are dual-core with four threads and are sold priced between $ 117 or R.s.7585 (Core i3-7100) and $ 179 or R.s. 11604 (Core i3-7350K).
